Why are there teams in the Jamboree that aren't in the NGYFA?

Because:
1. The jamboree isn't only for NGYFA teams, and
2. It's always been that way. Even when the Jamboree was just hosted by Jefferson Rec the Athens-area teams have come to participate.

My question is will they play our age groups and does someone check their paperwork?

If a team's roster has 11 year olds and 10 years olds they are required to play up with the 11's. With that being said, the honest to goodness answer is that if a Head Coach or team admin was determined to cheat in a kids football jamboree they could do it and very likely get away with it. My understanding is that teams are required to submit a roster and birth certificates confirming the ages of the kids on the roster. However, that does not prohibit someone from giving some stud kid a jersey and saying "hey, you're billy bob today if anyone asks."

Teams I've been affiliated with have been playing in this Jamboree for 7 years now and I've never seen it be an issue. The Athens area teams tend to have both pretty good size and are also generally quite athletic so we always considered playing them a good pre-season test of where we are as a unit.

You are more than welcome t o check are paperwork!!! AYA TROJANS 10u and 12u. Our 10u team is a 9/10 team and our 12u team is a 11/12 team. I have coached in both leagues and haven't come across any problems with any team using older kids. And we don't stack one team if we have to split

The only reason I ask is last year some teams were on the list to play and were lined up to play games. At the last minute they could not show the paperwork and had to pull out of the jamboree, And some teams had to play back to back without a break. I will not name the teams because it is not relevant to my question..
